Dr. Kharrazian’s endorsements by the founders and leaders of functional medicine

So many in this field of study and education know that the body is a gorgeously integrated system.  Dr. Datis Kharrazian, however, has a level of understanding and commitment to this magnificent science that many of us deeply respect and secretly envy.  Accessing his teachings is a privilege.

I’ve had the pleasure of knowing and working with Dr. Kharrazian for many years and have repeatedly been amazed at his ability to fearlessly think outside of the box.  His intensely creative mind allows him to explore entirely new avenues of understanding about how we become ill and what it takes to get well again.  Dr. Albert Szent-Gyorgyi, Nobel Prize winner and one of the forerunners of Functional Medicine, has been quoted as saying that “Research is seeing what everybody else has seen, and thinking what nobody has thought.”  As the quintessential clinician-researcher, Dr. Kharrazian is clearly following in Dr. Szent-Gyorgi’s footsteps.

Dr. Kharrazian is a healer, educator, and researcher. He is present with you, has a keen sense of observation, utilizes his vast knowledge of physiology, understands how systems in the body both interact and affect one another and brings cutting edge research to his work. I have been fortunate to experience Dr. Kharrazian as a researcher and educator. He is truly one of the greatest teachers of our time.

Through almost forty years of medical conferences I’ve found only a handful of speakers, scientists, educators who can adapt their innovative research and thinking to the clinical pearls we hope to take away for Monday morning. Dr. Kharrazian is one of them. His lectures are compelling and clinically valuable, filling in some of the voids left behind in our traditional medical education. I leave his presentations with more synaptic connections than I came in with. First and foremost though, every patient I treat benefits from Dr. Kharrazian’s knowledge and teaching.

Dr. Kharrazian developed a comprehensive evidence-based model to treat autoimmune, neurological, and unidentified chronic diseases based on his profound understanding of human anatomy, physiology and biochemistry, a unique ability to synthesize and explain complex concepts, and his extensive clinical experience. I highly recommend Dr. Kharrazian’s non-pharmaceutical personalized programs, based on diet, nutrition, and lifestyle medicine, to any healthcare provider who is interested in addressing the causes of illness and restoring patients’ health and optimal function.

Dr. Kharrazian is one of those people who when you first hear him speak, you realize something refreshingly special is happening. What I mean is, he can take complex, evidence-based material from research and break it down to practical application with a clarity rarely experienced! I have had the honor of teaching Functional Medicine with Datis at Loma Linda University School of Medicine for the past 5 years where I have witnessed first hand Dr. Kharrazian stir intrigue and critical thinking in the minds of budding physicians. The legacy of root cause medicine is served best when practitioners like Dr. Kharrazian are willing to dig deep in the evidence and ask the hard questions as to why things are and why it matters. This movement needs the humble confidence that is evident in the service Datis gives to his colleagues, students, and community each day.

I first met Dr. Kharrazian when he was a student in my class. I was impressed with how bright he was and knew back then that he would make a significant impact as a practicing clinician. I just did not realize how much of an impact he would have in shaping today’s paradigm shift in whole-person systems-based medicine. A classic example of “the student has become the master” and then some. A triple threat as a successful clinician, researcher, and educator, Dr. Kharrazian’s contributions have earned him a reputation as an international leader in lifestyle and functional medicine.

Dr. Kharrazian’s educational seminars are extremely practical. The science is presented in a logical fashion and can be quickly assimilated to any practice the next day. My practice has realized a surge of much healthier and happier patients who were given alternative treatment options to mainstream pharmaceutical models. The growth of new patients was noted as well. I have been able to immediately implement the protocols of treatment discussed at the seminars. Since attending Dr. Kharrazians seminars and viewing his webinars my practice took a much more integrative approach to illness. I rarely use pharmaceutical prescription medications and found that patients are thankful to be given choices. I found the education to be top notch, ahead of most conventional medical educational programs. All protocols are supported by old as well as current research. The presented information is supported with so much research, in fact, that any attendee will be at ease adapting the treatment models to any practice.
